This is my attempt to collect my various thoughts and writing about music into a format that stands a chance at being a useful resource for others. Certainly I’m not the best player in the world, but I have given a lot of thought to what makes a better musician. Here you can share some of those thoughts and ideas and maybe even catch a groove or two. And why do I write? Writing down what you think you know is a good way of finding out what you don’t.
participation
If you want to comment, I encourage that. I ask that you register, and that’s just to provide some degree of accountability with comments. You may register pseudonymously (using a made up name). I reserve the right to edit and remove comments that are inappropriate, but that doesn’t mean you can’t say things I may not like. I only remove offensive or unrelated comments (think spam), not criticisms. Comments are moderated, so if you don’t see your comment appear immediately, it is in queue for approval.

My privacy policy for this site is as follows. It is a subset of my overall privacy policy:
You can access our Web site home page and browse our site without disclosing your personal data. This site collects certain information about you for the purposes of statistics and administration of the site. This is general information about your browser and your connection, and contains no personally identifiable details. We do keep that information indefinitely, but we do not share it with other organizations or companies.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. We do not take specific steps to protect the privacy of children who disclose their personal data to us.
If you choose to use the comment feature, we also ask for some additional information, including an email address, which we use to verify your registration request, and to associate you with a particular account. We conceal this address from public view. This site will use that address to contact you only for administrative purposes, such as resetting your account password. We will not sell that address nor share it with other sites.
The comment feature used by this site sets cookies on your computer if you choose to be automatically logged in on each visit. No personally identifiable information beyond your chosen identity is contained in this cookie, and we do not share it with other organizations.
licensing
I am releasing the videos on this site under a Creative Commons license. I haven’t finished deciding which version is the most appropriate, but I’ll update this when I do. My intent is to be fairly permissive in how the material here is used.
commerce
I am not selling anything, and at this time I don’t plan to place ads here. I do run ads elsewhere on my web sites.
