More loop jam, but this one is in 13/8 for variety’s sake.
I came up with this in the car driving home. I quickly captured it in my notebook. This is what I started this tune with:
I recorded that on the Alesis drum kit real quickly (in three passes–hi hat fist, then kick+snare, then crashes), then came up with a sort of chord progression sitting at the Rhodes. Once I had that worked out, I laid the bass line down first, then did my Rhodes take. And this is the result. About three hours from idea to posted video.
Do you have a cd? Your music is amazing and the rhodes plus the playing sounds so great

Several sections (including the one from 2:21 - 2:43) are primo examples of two-handed melodic chording. Great stuff. A laptop/MIDI set-up in your car would cut your production time down to under 4 hours.

Great stuff, a fascinating 'burbling stream' kind of flow married to a very sharp and, as ever, supremely funky style. Liked the run off descent at the end :) CHeers.
what do you use to make the loops, and record the rhodes/drums/bass when you have it?

scottasin, that’s pretty thoroughly described in this post: http://music.linear1.org/2008/04/07/my-recording-setup/
