musical thoughts

RIP Jay McShann

Today was sad because of the passing of a great one. Jay McShann was one of the players from the days when Kansas City was known all over for jazz. I met him and even played on a gig with him.

Now he can jam with Bird again.

  1. That’s a terrible shame. McShann was one of the few remaining originals from a timeless era.
It’s great to know, however , that he lived to a fine age.
    Very rare amongst his generation.
